Columbia River Knife and Tool’s M21-14SF Special Forces Spear Point Combo Edge Knife

Based on Kit Carson’s custom designs, the M21-14SF Special Forces Big Dog folding knife from Columbia River Knife & Tool (CRKT) features contoured handles of black, hard anodized 6061 T6 aluminum with a fringe radius. The stainless-steel locking liners with friction grooves give sure locking, and the blade steel is made from AUS 8 stainless with a combined razor-sharp and triple-point serrated edge. The blade also receives a black titanium nitride coating for optimum corrosion resistance.

This aluminum InterFrame build SF folder shares a singular design offering a mix of Carson M16 Series features requested by military procurement specialists. Kit’s trademark dual checkered thumb studs are usual. One-hand opening and shutting is fast and smooth. It also features CRKT’s exclusive patented AutoLAWKS automatic safety, which turns the folder into a virtual fixed blade mechanically.

All knives on this series are supplied with clip choices that permit four-position carry on belts or webbing. Note, alternatively, that these knives don’t seem to be designed for tip-up in-pocket carry. They’re special knives, designed by the army for special forces use.

AutoLAWKS Knife Safety

An automatic safety mechanism for folding knives, AutoLAWKS was once invented by Columbia River Knife & Tool as an enhancement to Ron Lake and Michael Walker’s design to stop the locking liner from by accident releasing when the knife is open and locked. Because the folder blade is locked in place by the locking liner, the spring-loaded AutoLAWKS lever rotates forward, and the metal tang comes between the locking liner and frame to make certain that the folder is a virtual fixed blade. It is rather tough, if no longer not possible, to by accident liberate the lining lock when the AutoLAWKS lever is activated and if the blade pivot is correctly adjusted.
